A nice hand thrown stoneware bowl made by North Carolina studio pottery Gordon Batten. He operates Two Rivers Studio in Whittier, NC. This large decorated bowl has an abstract hand painted floral design inside the bowl done in deep brown & copper dust tones over a gray & brown background. There is a nice drip glaze seen around the inner & outer rim. This bowl has good size measuring 12.5" wide at the rim by 4.5" tall. The underside is signed by the artist & dated 1986. This large stoneware bowl looks nice & original. A great console bowl for your NC studio pottery collection.
