A rare 1920 Antique Cast iron Duck. Solid metal, stands 4-1/2 inches, very heavy, "NOT" childs toy, a great piece for the right adult collector. This piece is before the classic rubber duckie phenomenon. Rubber ducks really hit the big time when in 1947, a sculptor called Peter Ganine filed a patent for a duck toy that he had created out of vinyl. Painted bright yellow & including their famous 'squeaker', the ducks were reproduced in their thousands & sold across the world.
