Vintage Japanese cast iron kettle (Tetsubin) of Nambu ironware (Nambu Tekki). Made of cast iron, finished in rust color. Decorated with maple leaves design molded. It' s EXCELLENT work. The name of artisan is molded on the body. Tetsubin are Japanese cast-iron kettles with a pouring spout, a lid, & a handle crossing over the top, used for boiling & pouring hot water for drinking purposes, such as for making tea.
