It's early afternoon on the East Coast of the United States. The sun is shining down from about one o'clock, creating small shadows from the four horses centered in the composition. Their coats are varying shades of reddish-brown. The two horses in the middle have blonde manes & the two on the outside, brown. The horses are all facing the same direction, showing us their profiles, splayed out in perfect formation like a playing card dealer would fan-out cards on a table. The sand they are standing upon is light in color & smooth. Behind the horses is a calm Atlantic Ocean in varying shades of aqua marine & pale blues & greens, becoming more saturated the further out to sea you look. Above the ocean is a hazy, washed out sky with a couple faded clouds in the distance.
