- This is a vintage 1942 2nd edition of the radio question bee show Whiz Kids. The set is complete with 36 double-sided question cards. I can't get it out of my head that all of the kids (especially the 2nd from left) look like Katharine Hepburn. About the show/game Quiz Kids is a radio & TV series originally broadcast in the 1940s & 1950s. Created by Chicago public relations & advertising man Louis G. Cowan, & originally sponsored by Alka-Seltzer, the series was first broadcast on NBC from Chicago, on June 28, 1940, airing as a summer replacement show for Alec Templeton Time. It continued on the radio for the next 13 years. If I can ship this at an equivalent rate first class, I will refund the overage.
