The insert & the sign sits in the front opening & the wreath hangs on the hook. Insert is approx.: 9" x 14" VINTAGE WINDOW 9.5" x 18" https://www.etsy.com/listing/1276068186/vintage-window-interchangeable-window?ref=listing_published_alert This is NOT compatible with the Wreath Sign. How the system works: There is one vintage window needed. There are multiple inserts available to fit the vintage window that can be changed out easily. This saves on space, but items can be glued if you want your item to be permanent. Inserts are available in separate listings. The item is made from 1/8" high quality HDF that is super smooth & doesn't require sanding between each coat. This makes it super easy to paint when done in thin light coats. Paint pens work exceptionally well too. Most items are etched to show you where each piece is supposed to go & there are pictures to reference. Glue is needed for assembly. Glue will be needed! (ca THICK or super glue needed) Suggestions: Use a 2" foam roller to cover larger areas. Be careful, words & letters can be fragile. High Density Fiberboard It's an engineered, composite wood board that has no natural wood grain, but is easy to paint with any acrylic paint. It absorbs paint fast, so it is best to paint thin layers on. If the paint is dragging, the paint may need to be thinned a little with water or get your paint brush damp. Acrylic or oil based paint pens work great too! HDF should never be put in contact with direct moisture/weather as it is water resistant, but not waterproof. It won't warp as it is resistant to absorbing moisture from the air. It is durable, but not quite as structurally capable as regular wood.
