Description

This is a wood block of a carnation vase detail from a 16th Century Fabric. Artist Grav Weldon has extracted the image & created a laser-cut stamp of this motif for use in block printing. All products are made in the USA from locally sourced lumber. Artist Grav Weldon creates each of these blocks through a proprietary process. These custom blocks may take up to three weeks to produce & ship, depending on demand. Materials for block printing: Ink or paint (see below) Cheap art felt (4-6 layers) Rubber brayer Non-porous surface for applying paint to brayer (glass, marble, stone, mirror, or a piece of aluminum foil taped to a hard surface) To clean blocks: Use the sink sprayer in your kitchen to gently extract paint from the crevices of your block, or lightly rub away paint bits with your fingertips. Set to dry in a war, dry place. For linen, cotton or rayon, silk screen ink (Speedball, Jacquard) is preferred. Some artisans use house paint. For silk & wool: Speedball block printing ink for fabric, or etching inks. 16Th Century English Carnation Vase Detail From Fabric Woodcut Stamp For Wood Block Printing Or Leather Embossing Sca
