Description
I would date this cotton christening or baptismal dress to the late Victorian or Edwardian era of the early 1900s, & it could also be nice on an antique doll. It was just one of two baptismal or Christening gowns from the estate. This one has a simple top with a tiny drawstring around the necking eyelet lace at the short sleeves. It's ecru or off white & has absolutely gorgeous eyelet lace & embroidery & pleats all around the bottom that is about 6 1/2" wide. That said, there are a few little apologies to be made. There are a few little rust spots from age here & there. I've not done anything to try to remove them & am selling it as found. Despite these minor imperfections, it is not in need of any major restoration, & it could be used or displayed exactly as it is. I can provide more information or photos if needed. It's in overall good, well preserved preowned condition. I am selling it AS FOUND & AS IS due to the rust spots. I have included photos to give an accurate idea of its condition. This has been stored in a smoke-free dry environment. I have not attempted to launder or spot clean it.
