Wonderful Hubley cast iron German Shepherd standing doorstop from the 1930s. Large & imposing, the German Shepherd figure is very realistically rendered. Beautifully articulated three dimensional body & inquisitive face with piercing black eyes. Very heavy - weighs 5 pounds. Beautifully hand painted in shades of tan, brown & black, with a little bit of cream. Paint is chippy & there is a little bit of rust on the underside, which we think adds to its charm. Retains its original paint. Cast in two pieces with seam down the back along along the belly, with a single screw in the center to hold it together. Measures 9.5 inches high by 8.5 inches wide & 4.5 inches deep. A real collectible treasure! Equally at home as a doorstop, or on a shelf or desk. Wonderful gift for a German Shepherd lover!
