Description
Original miniature watercolour drawing painting, dating from the mid Victorian period. This painting is by Myles Birkett Foster, a popular British artist in the 19th Century. It is monogrammed in the bottom left corner & on the back is a label with the title of the painting & the artists name ( which is a little faded ). There is also a line of writing under the painting, it is quite faded but looks like it is a description of the location. It is a scene of Westminster Abbey from St James Park. The picture is on paper, which is mounted on thick cardboard. The board it is on is 16.5cm x 14.5cm & the paper is 11cm x 11.5cm. Condition: It has some age spots & a little discolouring. There is a clear ring around the image, were it has been in a circle shaped mount. The colours are still good & its beautifully painted, the painted area is under 10cm in diameter, so my images are enlarged. I have two painting by this artist, so please check out my other listings.
