It was a beautiful, sunny day as I set out to photograph Yaquina Head Lighthouse in Newport, Oregon. The drive there was breathtaking, with the Pacific Ocean stretched out before me & the rugged coastline dotted with seabirds. As I approached the lighthouse, I could feel the cool ocean breeze on my skin & smell the saltwater in the air. The grass was damp with morning dew, & I could hear the waves crashing against the cliffs below. I made my way up to the top of the cliff where the lighthouse stood, its beacon shining brightly in the mid-day sun. The view from up here was stunning, with the sea stretching out as far as the eye could see. I set up my camera & began to capture the beauty of the lighthouse & its surroundings. The contrast between the white lighthouse & the deep blue sea was breathtaking, & the way the light played off the water was mesmerizing. As I snapped shot after shot, I couldn't help but feel a sense of awe at the history of this place. The Yaquina Head Lighthouse has stood here since 1873, guiding ships safely to shore & serving as a beacon of hope for sailors in the treacherous waters off the Oregon coast. I spent hours at the lighthouse, capturing every angle & detail, & when I was done, I knew I had captured something truly special. The Yaquina Head Lighthouse will always hold a special place in my heart, & these photographs will serve as a reminder of that unforgettable day.
