Description

A riff on the medieval Ashkenazi Jewish tradition of presenting a ring topped with the likeness of a house or temple. This one is made from cardboard & painted with acrylic. Attached to the bottom is a school of aluminum fish surrounding a cardboard fish decorated with a depiction of the evil eye. The fish, as a creature which spends its life underwater, is thought to be slippery enough to evade the evil eye, & is a symbol of protection. These earrings are constructed from recycled cardboard this is great for anyone who, like myself, has small to non-existent earlobes that can't handle much weight! They are extremely lightweight, but not meant for all weather wear. Being cardboard, these earrings will suffer when exposed to moisture. The charms attached to the main structure are made from aluminum I have up-cycled from soda cans. Hooks are sterling silver. Goldenhour Ayin Ha'ra Home Amulet Earrings With Aluminum Fish Charms
