He came to the U.S. on February 29, 1908 at the age of 4. He was accompanied by his father, Franz, age 39, his mother Anna, age 25, his sister Ella, age 6, & his sister Stephanie (nicknamed Pep), age 2. They had been living in Tesolua, Hungary. My uncle was actually born in Zilina in Hungary; the part of Hungary where they were from became part of Czechoslovakia & later part of Slovakia. When they arrived, they lived first in New York, & later moved to Cambridge, Massachusetts, in approximately 1915. They lived at 72 Norfolk Street, Cambridge, where my grandparents lived from 1915 until they died, & where Uncle Louis lived from 1915 until he married Jeanette Leighton in 1944. Uncle Louis graduated from Rindge Technical High School. After Uncle Louis married Jeanette Leighton they lived in Watertown. Uncle Louis taught at Wentworth Institute in Boston to support them. He died Monday January 17, 1983, at Waltham Hospital. (source: askART.com) Louis Novak | American, 1903-1988, "Joline-Campbell Hall From Blair Court, Princeton", 1943, Linocut, Pencil Signed
