This fabric is 36 inches wide. It is 100% cotton & is sold by the yards. It weighs approximately 7.5 ounces per yard. This fabric was hand woven in the highlands of Guatemala. It is an excellent example of the the artistry of the Mayan people. It is a finely woven textile. It is medium weight & would work well for a home decor project or apparel. It is said that the Mayan goddess Ixchel gave the gift of weaving to her people. It was an extraordinary gift. in Maya communities weaving is handed down from generation to generation. Children play in the room where their parents weave. They grow up learning the art from their parents.
