Description

Vintage Japanese Kokeshi Doll Fountain Pen. A wonderful carved wooden Japanese Kokeshi Doll has been made with the bottom holding the metal nib of a Fountain Pen. Fountain Pens are often filled manually with liquid ink, usually using a plunger or bladder method, sometimes an ink cartridge can be used. This piece would use the dipping method, similar to a 'feather quill', simply dip the tip in an inkwell drawing ink up onto the nib, this will be enough ink to write several characters in beautiful calligraphy style script. This Kokeshi Fountain Style Pen has a traditional hand painted Japanese outdoor scene around the outside. It also has a small band of dark green toward the top, just below the small Kokeshi dolls head, she has sweet facial features which were hand painted & is also signed. The beautiful Kokeshi Fountain Pen comes in its original box, with an original plastic cap to protect the nib of the pen (see photographs). This piece measures approximately 5.5" inches in length & is in beautiful vintage condition. A beautiful piece of Japanese Folk Art, this would be a wonderful addition not only to a collection of Kokeshi Dolls but also a collector of Fountain Pens, Calligraphy Implements or simply Asian Folk Art.
