These types of souvenirs were very popular even today but have been around since the 1880's in one form or another & in aluminum starting around 1900. They are usually a Good Luck token you could then personalize at whatever the venue was. This is the first one I've found that is called a Teletag where you would put your phone number along with your name. This one is from the John G. Shedd Aquarium in Chicago.
