Alden 'Norwegian HS Blucher' -Model #964- in Burgandy Calfskin, marked size 10 B/D. 'B' is the heel width, 'D' is the ball width. Pretty standard size, Alden's typically run 1/2 size big, but these are close to true. These were specially made for Nordstrom - San Francisco Centre, located on Market Street just a couple blocks south of Union Square. You probably already know...Alden is the last of the great American shoe manufacturers that still make shoes the old way...by the hands of talented craftsmen with superior quality materials. This model is still available...the least expensive I could find was $530.00 US. All leather calfskin uppers. 5 eyelet lace-up. Original spaghetti lacing. Double row stitching, HS(hand sewn?) for mocc toe look. Goodyear welted & channel stitched leather soles. Stacked heel, brass nails, with keyed rubber on the back quarter. Natural & Buff colored glove leather interior , with cushioned heel pad. The soles & have factory hand written ID number near heel. Excellent condition. Beautiful glossy finish with only a modest blemish or two on the sole edging...no cuts, scrapes, gouges or dings to uppers. Only moderate wear on the soles & heels. Get 'em while you can. These are creeping their way towards my closet...Priced to sell.
