You can use it after washing dishes by hand, or for those items in the dishwasher that might not have dried fully during the cycle. It is an attractive alternative to a dish strainer or dish towel on your counter. It is generously sized at approximately 18" by 22". The dish mat is made with 100% cotton quilting fabric. It is backed with a THICK white terry cloth towel. It has been topped stitched & quilted together with straight lines. There is a hanging loop on one of the back. Stripes may go either horizontally or vertically depending on the cut of fabric.
