Vintage Majolica Canary Bird Figurines Made in Italy Measures 6 inches tall base measures 5 1/4 inches by 4 1/8 inches Photos are part of the item's description This is a wonderful Italian majolica figurine featuring two playful canaries perching on flowering branches featuring gorgeous ceramic leaves. It has a naive quality that makes it even more charming. It lives beautifully with Staffordshire pieces & other decorative ceramics especially blue & white Chinese pieces. The white base of the piece has elegant scrollwork & extruded clay "grass" sometimes called "spaghetti." The hand-painted underglaze surface of the piece is soft & rich. There is damage to one leaf on the back of the piece. When displayed this doesn't show at all. Please study the photos carefully. When we found this treasure it was miraculously very clean. Clearly, it had always been displayed in a cabinet. We will double-box this delicate treasure to make sure that it arrives to you safely.
