Original cast iron Morris & Co meat hook trolley. Piece is 2 parts: cast iron pulley/trolley & hand forged cast iron 2 pronged hook. Both parts show moderate wear, oxidation & aging. The pulley or trolley spins as it should & has well preserved embossed makers marks on both sides: Morris & Co. with trademark L in a circle on one side, & Mechanical MFG Co. Chicago on the other. This would have been in a butcher shop or meat processing facility, on a track suspended from the ceiling to sling or trolley along the slabs of beef hanging from the hooks. ( I instantly have visions from the movie Rocky I ) It measures 23" top to bottom, the pulley is 4" diameter. A wonderful authentic hook & pulley, repurpose hardware, architectural salvage.
