This beautiful & rare medal coin calibrates the 200th anniversary of one of three churches. so the story goes.. The treaty of Westphalia ended the 30 years war in 1648. One of the provisions allowed the Lutherans in Silesia (then part of Germany, now part of Poland) to built three churches out of wood, without steeples & without bells. This medal was struck for the church built in Schweidnitz (now called Swidnica in Polish) which was completed in 1652, so this medal celebrates the 200th anniversary of that church. One of the three churches burned to the ground but the other two still remain & are very impressive. Thank you dabro7 for this wonderful information!!
