Description

This fabulous antique carafe was made by the CONSOLIDATED LAMP & GLASS COMPANY ca. 1894. This carafe is a spectacular example of Early American Pressed Glass. Consolidated Lamp & Glass Co. was founded in 1893 in Fostoria, Ohio but when their factory burned down, the business relocated to Coraopolis, Pennsylvania in 1896, where they remained in business until 1963. This gorgeous carafe is a very rare bird! Early American Pressed Glass from this time period is rare, & this line of red glassware with silver plated adornments is even more rare. I was only able to find images of this carafe in collections of vintage advertisements & museum photos. This carafe is part of Consolidated's "Cerise Table Ware" line. The pattern is called Torquay & the color is called Selenium Ruby. This carafe has a bulbous, ribbed body & a silver plated throat & spout. This carafe measures 6" in diameter x 9" tall. This antique carafe is in very good, pre-owned condition with minor plating loss at the very edge of the top rim. There is no damage to the glass. Ca. 1894 Consolidated Lamp & Glass Co.
