The inscription at the bottom of this lovely holy card said, in German, "Heart, learn from me in all circumstances as I am the handmaid of the Lord!" The heart she's calling out to is yours & mine. Mary enjoys a special place next to Jesus, & so, as St. Louis de Montfort said, she "is the safest, easiest, shortest & most perfect way of approaching Jesus". We have been looking at this holy card for a long time, always thinking it was beautiful. We cropped the lower part off as it made the picture overly long & kind of detracted from the person of Mary. We think this was a German card printed about 1890. We hope you enjoy it. Devotional artwork in the home can help the hearts of those who see it. We print this one on natural cotton paper, slightly creamy, to harmonize with the holy card. This image should look almost exactly the same for many generations if kept dry & left out of the sun.
