One classic Byzantine Icons The Holy Shroud ,gold background,polished ,silkscreen image. The Icon is made on natural linden wood with varnished back(dark brown). Tsukaniko is the name given to the technique of imprinting engraved or stamped patterns & decorations on the golden plain of the image, or the halos or even the frames, which surround the subject like a frame. The Holy Shroud is one of the lost relics of the Orthodox Church. It is a piece of cloth on which the image of the face of Jesus Christ has been miraculously imprinted (Handmade Image). According to the tradition of the Orthodox Church, the king of Edessa Avgaros V was cured with it. The icon is also known as the Icon of Edessa.
