This is a super charming Vintage Child Portrait Painting, of Jack & Jill. This Original Fine Art Oil Painting is done on a stretched canvas & signed Evelyn Gathings, dated 93'. Evelyn Gathings (1927-2010). This is a rare Original Fine Art Painting by Gathings, Framed in a wide profile vintage wooden frame. Painting is signed on the backside as well, along with some other information. Evelyn was a longtime Riverside resident who was a noted artist & children's book illustrator. Evelyn was born in Chicago in 1927. At the age of four she relocated to Long Beach with her family, & spent the rest of her life in Redlands & Riverside. Evelyn studied art at Pepperdine University, where she began a career as an oil painter which spanned over sixty years. Evelyn's oil paintings won numerous awards including first place at the Southern California Exposition. Piece is in excellent vintage condition, with definite, though subtle signs of age & wear.
