Up for sale is a very rare antique 17th century handmade lidded German family urn. It's made of very thick pewter with a gorgeous silhouette & has acquired a lovely patina from age. It has a removable lid that sits recessed into the base & topped with a detailed figural finial of a knight holding a flag. The urn is engraved by hand wrapping the belly & embellished with handmade hanging medallions of passed family members dating from 1672-1828. They are all hand cut, tooled, & engraved & hang from lion mounts done in high relief. It's in nice condition & measure 23 1/4 inches tall by 6 1/2 inches wide.
