Very special vintage handmade brooch: ~ Created by artisan Lucinda Yates from Portland, Maine ~ Her motto is "Changing the World one Pin at a Time" - & I believe she has accomplished what she has set out to do ~ I love her work & can't say enough about the powerful messages she creates. Originally these were created to benefit charity & also to provide beautiful, affordable, high quality, giftable, wearable pieces of art. They are all of that & so much more. I am in shock & awe that pieces of paper can come together to speak so loudly & evoke such thought & emotion ~ This example is from her "House Pins" series ~ Colorful bits of heavy paper cut outs are stacked, layered, & arranged to create a country farm scene complete with a huge old fashioned barn, cute little farm house, a pair of black & white cows with red bows around their necks, silo, big teal or turquoise green sun or moon & super sparkly pink glitter roofs topping all off ~ This one has a bold late 80's / early 1990's color scheme of magenta, teal, & lilac purple ~ Perfect jewelry piece or gift for the country girl, Veterinarian, Realtor / real estate agent, animal lover, dairy farmer, rancher Ready & waiting for your lapel, wardrobe, collection, or gift giving - you will love this!
