The thing that I miss the most about Maine is the same thing that I desperately wanted to run from as a kid - living on the river, having my hands in the dirt, wandering up the riverbank to the bend in the river, enjoying dusk as the sun sinks below the hills. I got to spend many years there, catching crayfish, picking leeches off my body, wandering down the river towards Washburn until I got exhausted. Here is one of those bends in the Aroostook River at dusk with a bonus campfire in the foreground. The blues & oranges & purples in this one are incredible. I have painted this with a colorful bubble design throughout the image playing off the black linework to give just a slightly more funky/abstract feel to my usual style. I really enjoy combining my love for nature with my comic book style linework. The print has a black matting & protective sleeve, ready to frame.
