Description
Frances E. Willard was one of the giants of Women's Rights when she was instrumental in the starting of the W.C.T.U (Women's Christian Temperance Union) in the crusade to outlaw Alcohol in the mid 1800's. She later turned her efforts to the Rights of women as a way to better influence policy & therefore was a leader as well of the Women's Suffrage Movement. The Frances E Willard Legion of Honor was organized in 1910, she passed away in 1897 but the organization presented this to a F. Parker Burkart Jr. For his Temperance, Purity, Fidelity, Industry & Good Citizenship. This is rare as hen's teeth & I can't find another like it. Pretty cool piece of history.
