This is a very attractive Gunther's beer coaster, never used & very retro. The beer was brewed by the George Gunther Jr Brewing Co of Baltimore. Founded in 1900, the Gunther brewery eventually was sold to Hamm's in 1959 & then to Schaefer in 1963. The Gunther plant finally was shuttered in 1978 & now is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Gunther's is remembered by many as the original beer sponsor of the Baltimore Orioles with prominent signage on the Memorial Stadium scoreboard from 1954-1959. The coaster vintage is 1940s or 1950s. It comes in an 8 1/2 x 8 1/2 walnut easel-back frame with attached sawtooth hanger for wall mounting. For the old school beer drinker and/or O's fan. Makes a great anniversary or birthday gift.
