Antique Staffordshire ABC Plate Polychrome Louis Wain Transfer I must say, this is one child's ABC plate that I have not seen before: with a Louis Wain Polychrome Transfer of 3 kitties at bath time. They look quite mischievous and, by the unusual coloring, it looks like these imps got into the paint! The look on the faces of blue kitty, red kitty & yellow kitty suggest some kind of hi-jinx that has landed them in the tub! Measuring 8 inches in diameter, condition is very good with minor signs of wear attendant with age & use. There is some "bleed" of color on the white above the transfer but that was in the making. There is a very old inventory/price tag on the back from when it was purchased many, many years ago by the previous owner. Please see photos as they are part of the description. This is another piece that crosses over to many genres, but the polychrome Louis Wain kitties are what makes it such a rarity.
