Vintage 1950s era sun bonnet similar to the one Laura wore on the "Little House on the Prairie" series. The cotton fabric sun bonnet is made of large violet & white checks with raspberry & violet colored roses throughout. The bonnet is homemade on a home sewing machine. The seamstress work is very good, sewn with straight lines & complete. With long ties for securing under the chin. The brim is reinforced to help retain its shape. I added the tape tie at the back. It is easy to adjust or change. This tie also allows for a larger or smaller head size as desired. Clean & lightly pressed. Good condition. No tears, no stains. This bonnet would be great for a Dutch Oven cookout, or a prairie recreation or celebration. Actually, this bonnet would be just fine for wearing outside to keep the sun off the face while working in the garden or taking a walk. 1950's nostalgia.
