FREJA - is our costume set of Early Medieval woman. in translation, the name Freja means - lady or mistress, & we wanted to make a gentle, but at the same time a little daring costume. Freya does not wear a hood that hides her hair, or feminine headbands decorated with embroidery orwoven trims. She prefers practical things, as she has femininity inside her. She wears a wool hat as well as an asymmetrical cloak for easier movement. A long woollen cloak can weigh down movement, get dirty quickly, & is also not quite suitable for already warmer evenings. Freja chooses a medium-length cloak with a short front in order to spread her arms wide & be ready for round dances as well as for sudden reactions. The apron dress & linen dress don't lie on the floor, as in the photo. It was done to show the width of the finished product. More photos can be found in each product separately. The length of the dress will be adjusted to you full height. Silk strips & wool shade can be customized. The cloak is made of high quality thick/medium thickness wool. All available colors of wool start at a percentage of 70 & up. All wools are of high quality & suitable for a cloak. This cloak was made based on the discovery Valkyrie figure from Sweden, where she is dressed in a cloak/cape, which is shorter at the front & distinctly longer at the back. A good cloak was a way to show high social status. Cloaks were used everywhere & for everything, most often to keep warm & sleep. The cloak is shorter at the front - about 70 cm, at the back it is about 115 cm long.
