This is a sweet, mini, vintage 1950s, plastic & shell encrusted, lidded, souvenir, cache dish from Florida. It is a small box measuring 3.75 inches wide by 2.25 inches in height to the top of the knob. It is comprised of 2 pieces in green plastic with a pierced scalloped rim. The outside is completely shell-encrusted with tiny pink & white seashells topped off with a palm tree decal inscribed "Florida". During the 1950s many souvenir, shell-encrusted items were crafted for tourists including vases & salt/pepper shakers etc., but I have never seen a dish like this one before. It is in great condition with most shells intact & would make a nice, vanity catch-all or ring dish. Please be sure before purchasing as this item is NOT returnable.
