Wonderful set of ethnic Costume cards by The Singer Manufacturing Company, marked 1892, most likely for the World's fair in Chicago. This is a set of 30 cards, it is possible that a couple may be missing from this deck, although it seems that not many more could fit in the envelope-at most one or possibly 2. Countries represented are Burmah 1, Ceylon 1, Tunis 2, Hungary 2, Bosnia 2, Italy 1, Zululand 1, Portugal 1, Spain 7, Roumania 2, Servia 2, China 1, Algeria 1, Manila 1, Norway 1, Netherlands 1, India 2 , Japan 1. They each have a little write up about the country & it's clothing. 2 of the cards(India & Spain) have some folding damage, please see last photo. The remaining cards are in great shape, the envelope is worn, but still intact. Also, if you are sensitive to smells - they were stored in an old cabinet for quite some time, so they do have a bit of an old smell(not musty).
