Description
This mug is wheel thrown in a speckled brown stoneware clay & glazed in castille blue glaze. I've heavily dipped the rim in sea mist & the overall effect is like tropical waters - so pretty! The sea mist melts down the side of the mug, & the edge where it stops has almost a peachy tinge. The top of the mug is darker where the glazes break on rim, & the color changes as it flows down the side - almost an ombre effect. The overall vibe is one of tropical waters. Each side has a different amount of overlap & melt of the two glazes, & you will want to keep turning it around & around to see the variance & color difference. There is an especially delicious drip of sea mist underneath where the handle attaches at the top & down the center of the handle. It has the letters "STFU" stamped on the front & the letters are accented with red iron oxide. The letters are placed low enough that they do not interfere with sipping. It is 3 1/4 inches wide at the opening, 3 1/2 inches wide at the belly & 3 3/4 inches tall. It will hold about 14 fluid ounces. Fired to cone 5 in an electric kiln. Food, dishwasher & microwave safe.
