Karri's unique style of art merges two painting genres: abstract expressionism & realism. Her work features stark black & white backgrounds layered with meticulously hand drawn & painted nature iconography. All the scenes in Karri's paintings are her own composition, her own ideas based off time spent in nature. The average time it takes Karri to create a painting is 300-3200 hours. The only tools she uses to create her highly detailed paintings are: acrylic paint, graphite pencil, & paint brushes only 3 to .5 millimetres in diameter. Karri graduated from the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee-Peck School of The Arts in 2007 with a Bachelor's Degree in Painting & Drawing. Since graduation, Karri travels around the Midwest showing her artwork in museums, galleries & at fine art shows. Karri is extremely grateful & honored to be a full-time artist.
