Primitive Barong Brutuk Mask, hand carved and. painted from albesia wood. Painted in black with a leafy design in green & red paints. The Barong Brutuk dance is a rarely performed ritual in Bali. It is performed only in the Bali Aga village of Trunyan high upon the slopes of Sacred Mount Batur Volcano. Only the unmarried young men are allowed to participate in the dance, they are dressed in dried banana leaves & primitive mask to spread good luck & fertility to all the people of the village.
