New Orleans Postcard Courtyard & Prison Rooms, Cabildo Pirate LaFittes Cell Never mailed in good to very good vintage condition some aging & darkening to the paper. Small bumps to the corners. One owner You can see some wear along the edges that shows up as white in the photos all along the right hand side facing & on the left corner. There is also an imperfection in the upper right hand corner facing. Tags/ID/Label: Kropp Dimensions: 5 5/8 x 3.5 inches features a view of the courtyard in the Cabildo at Chartres & St. Peter's Streets in New Orleans, Louisiana. The building was the home of the Spanish municipal government in New Orleans until the Louisiana Purchase in 1803 when the United States acquired the territory. The rooms off of the courtyard were originally used as prison rooms. The room with the door open is the cell in which the pirate LaFitte was incarcerated after his capture by the Americans.
