Black Ceramic Oil Diffuser, Essential Oil Burner For the home or spa I guess it was only a matter of time until I made a diffuser from this beautiful terracotta clay & glazed it with my new black glaze. It is the first but definitely not the last. I have been using this red clay & black glaze quite frequently lately as you can see on other items in my shop. This striking & vibrant diffuser will add a splash of color to your bathroom, bedroom or lounge. The last image shows terracotta & brown/blue diffusers. It is also perfect for use in spas & lasts much longer because of the increased bowl capacity. My son asked me to make one for him. He also asked me to make a lid with an opening to fit the bowl - this is the result. We discovered that the lid causes most of the evaporating water to return into the bowl instead of escaping into the air, causing the water in the diffuser to last much longer while still allowing the oil to evaporate. We also discovered that it takes the water much less time to heat up without overheating. Take a close look at the top of the bowl in the attached video to see the water evaporation that occurs without the lid. This item is handmade by me on the potter's wheel. This item is made from ceramic stoneware & is fired to a temperature of 1200 degrees celsius (2192 Fahrenheit). It is glazed with lead-free & food safe glazes & is ideal for use in the oven & microwave but not over an open flame. It is dishwasher safe. If the item is out of stock, I can make another one, but the new item may vary slightly in size. That's the beauty of handmade objects.
