1860's Wedgwood Ivanhoe Flow Blue China Plates with "Urfried Relating Her Story to Cedric". Includes Free Shipping. Blue on white porcelain china plates featuring Urfried & Cedric with "Urfried Relating Her Story to Cedric" text in the center & a border of key figures from the Ivanhoe tale & geese, hare, turkey, chicken, pheasant & fish. The plates measure 8.75" in diameter. They are in good vintage condition with lite crazing, see pictures. The plates have Ivanhoe, Wedgwood & Etruria England stamped in blue along with Wedgwood incised on the bottom. The Ivanhoe pattern was designed by Wedgwood art director Thomas Allen in the late 1800's & was presented at the Paris Exhibition of 1878. They are based on characters from Sir Walter Scott's novel of the same name & beautifully depict a very romantic & idealized view of the Medieval times that were very popular during the Victorian era.
