Here is a vintage original small oil painting of a South Carolina Lowcountry marsh near Charleston. I bought this painting from a dealer in Charleston, & it was a painting of some marshland surrounding Charleston. Could be Johns Island, Isle of Palms, Edisto beach, Sullivans Island, Folly Beach, James Island, Mt Pleasant, or any surrounding area there. This art is painted on a Masonite board & framed in an olive-colored wood frame. It measures 11 1/4 x 13 1/4 in. framed & 6 x 8 in. unframed, so a small painting. The artist depicts the marsh grass, seagulls, the ocean inlet water, & in the distance trees. I vacation every year on the coast near Charleston & this is exactly what it looks like. The art is signed by Carol Cole. There is no date, but I would place it in the late 1960s to early 1970s time period.
