Vintage Glass Bluebird of Happiness Large Size Signed by Ron Ray 1993 Excellent condition for a gently pre-owned figurine. PRISTINE! Great coloring & is so sweet. No imperfections. No damage. It has the original sticker still on the bottom. I love birdsespecially blue ones. About 2.5" tall x 3.5" deep x 1.5" wide (Large Size of this figurine) A true vintage treasure! #21 No box, but I will package it very carefully. Fun to know: Leo Ward Bio: The original Arkansas Bluebird of Happiness was created by Leo Ward at Terra Studios, Arkansas. He introduced the birds in 1982. Each bird is individually crafted from molten glass by artisans at Terra Studios & is signed & dated. Though Terra Studios creates glass birds in many colors, the bluebird has always been the most popular choice. Leo Ward retired in 2006 leaving his business to his son to run. in 2007, James Ulick, bought Terra Studios. Mr. Ward died in 2017. The company made & sold birds for a short but stopped making the birds in 2020. What is the connection between Leo Ward's Terra Studios & Ron Ray's Phoenix Studio because both are based in Arkansas & their bluebirds are similar? Ron Ray as well as other artists were trained at the Terra Studios. Ron Ray Bio: Ron Ray trained under Leo Ward & began his own studio called Phoenix Studio based out of Fayetteville, Arkansas. This studio is no longer in business. You can also find Ron Ray's name on bluebirds with the name Sunny Day Bluebird stickers.
