Stunning Antique Sterling Silver bangle bracelet. This Victorian Bracelet has scalloped outer edges & is just one of the many beautiful details on this Bracelet. Engraved with Ivy leaves, Vines & Roses, with 5 raised decorative Design. It must have been given for a special occasion. Ivy leaves symbolized a union for eternity such as marriage or friendship, because the ivy plant grows upward & bonds to whatever it attaches to. It is stamped Standard Silver, J H, With the Birmingham Anchor Symbol, The England Lion Symbol for Sterling Silver & another mark see pictures for details. These Antique Bracelets with scalloped edges are not very common as those with straight edges or the beaded edges. These pieces were not mass produced, & each piece is truly a beautiful work of art. These Victorian sterling silver pieces originated in England. This piece has the Birmingham Anchor Symbol. Most were produced either in the Chester or Birmingham regions of England during the 1880's to the turn of the century. The bangle opens up & has a push clasp to open the slide closure making it very secure, it passes the tug test. The hinge works great. This piece does have Pantina, it is in good condition for it's age. It has a couple slight indentation on the back of the smooth silver, very faint surface scratches, has a oval shape. Measurements: Height is 1 1/4" Wide. Width is 2 1/2" across. Inside measurement, 6 1/4" circumference, measuring the inside of Bracelet.
