From 1977 to 1979 the Knowles China Company of Newell, West Virginia, issued a series of eight limited-edition collector plates honoring the classic MGM film, The Wizard of Oz. Designed by portraitist James Auckland, these were also the first plates produced to commemorate a motion picture. Plate is porcelain & painted with exquisite detail & measures 8.5 Inches in diameter. Certificate of Authorization, Leaflet & Original styrofoam are included.
