This is a fantastic carved Black Forest figure of a woman by Hans & Adolf Heinzeller. This is a great collector's piece & a great accent to any wall. Hans Heinrich Zeller together with his son created in 1945-1946 the Hans & Adolf Heinzeller wood sculpturing firm. in 1958-1959 Hans Heinzeller built its main office building in Oberammergau so this sculpture would have been made after 1958-59 as per the label on the back. Carvings by Hans Heinrich Zeller can be found all over the world. The designs are known for their realistic subjects & forms. Some of his designs can be found today in the museum in Oberammergau & Westminster Abbey. The wooden portrait is in excellent vintage condition with some minor signs of wear on the corners. The back has the original label, 'Hans & Adolf Heinzeller, Holzbildhauer, Oberammergau'. There is another sticks with numbers & letters I do not recognize, but have left on. There is also the hand carved signature as well. There is a hole in the back for hanging. Measures 3.25" across the top, 2.5" across at the base & 7.5" tall.
