Austin is known for the huge plumes of bats that fly out at once from under congress bridge in the evenings, & people travel from all over to witness the spectacle. The bats are an absolutely essential part of our ecosystem, gobbling up many millions of insects (each catch a few thousand per night). Mosquitoes, flies, & moths are not the only snacks they're interested in-bats are also pollinators!
