This listing is for a vintage diamond engagement ring & wedding band set in platinum made by the great Granat Bros out of San Francisco. This company started in 1905 in Stockton CA by brothers Joseph & Leo Granat & moved to San Francisco around 1927. The rings weigh a solid 8.4 grams togeather & the rings are approx size 6. These could be sized within reason by your local jeweler. The main diamond is approximately .20 Ct & is set with a low profile & prongs that protect the diamond as well as give an illusion to a larger size diamond. This is a very sturdy & comfortable ring to wear especially if you work with your hands a lot or wear gloves etc. The accent side diamonds & diamonds on the band are all Single Cut, that is a variety of vintage round cut diamond that has 17 facets in total. The center diamond has excellent clarity, color & fire. There is no lack of sparkle & the center diamond is approximately VVS-VS clarity & E-F color. (Exact grading is limited by the ring setting) The wedding band has tiny prongs that fits into the other band making them very comfortable to wear togeather as a set. The band is marked Granat & platinum, & also has a patent number. This is an excellent price for both an engagement ring & wedding band of excellent quality!! The Granat bros tried unsuccessfully to patent the process of these interlocking wedding sets, but the patent was denied for "lack of invention" as there were many other companies that made interlocking rings.
