Description

Great late 40s to early 50s Sherbrooke rain coat & matching hat. It is a forest green & looks like a tightly woven gabardine. It has a striped taffeta lining which is also on the collar & cuffs & inside of the hat. There are sewn in shoulder pads under the lining. 5 green plastic buttons at the top. with a button & buttonhole on the inside bottom to keep the bottom closed during inclement weather. 2 angled slit pockets on the front. The hat is fits on the head with a small brim & elastic at the back. Inside the hat has the same lining. The hat is small on me & I have alot of hair & it kept sliding up as the elastic is strong. I would cut the elastic to have more of an opening without popping off. If you have a small hat size this may fit perfectly. There are 2 labels the makers label says Sherbrooke, All-Weather Fashions & the store label is Cherry & Webb Co Providence. Shown on forms unpinned with 34.5 inch bust. Measurements taken flat Shoulders 15 inches Bust 20.5 Across botton hem 29.5 Sleeve 23.5 Length 38 Condition is good. There is fading on both shoulders - the right shoulder is the worst with a longer line going down the sleeve for a bit. It can be seen but depending on light will almost disappear & look like a shadow. Small pencil point & pin holes on the collar lining, only about 3 pin holes are seen when the coat is on as the others are folded under. Hat is very good. 1940's - 50S Raincoat With Matching Hat, Forrest Green By Sherbrooke, For Cherry & Webb, Great Taffeta Striped Lining
