STAMP INFORMATION: Name: Desert Plants Year: 1981 Face Value: 20 cents History: On December 11, 1981 the USPS issued a series of desert plant stamps paying tribute to the species of plants that have adapted over the eons to withstand the harsh environment of the desert. Pictured are the Barrel Cactus, Agave, Beavertail Cactus, & the Saguaro. These stamps are a se-tenant block (from the French meaning 'joined together') with the four stamps still attached at their shared perforations & with each stamp featuring a different design. These stamps are perfectly suitable for use as postage for mailing with USPS, as long as you use the adequate amount of postage to achieve standard postage rates.
